About Jenkins Construction's MUSIC MONTH Series
Friends of Ballard Park hosted three concerts as part of Jenkins Construction's MUSIC MONTH series at Ballard Park in 2018. More than 750 people attended the series.

The Toe Jam Puppet Band opened the concert series on July 10th. Newport Community Police Officers Joshua Wildes and Brett Misturado greeted concert goers. Children were excited to receive their own police badge and pencils from the officers then dance, sing and take the stage with The Toe Jam Puppet Band. Local summer programs like the MLK Center and Summer Learning Academy brought their campers to the concert.

Chelley, Bill & Dyl returned on Wednesday, July 18th. The sensational Chelley Smith belted out the blues, rock, reggae and pop tunes to a happy crowd with Dylan Roy on bass and Bill Cote on guitar.

Jenkins Construction's MUSIC MONTH wrapped up with a concert by The Ravers, Rhode Island's premier reggae band celebrating their 30th anniversary rocking RI. The family-friendly reggae show drew many locals and was a fun evening of dancing and music.

Friends of Ballard Park is thankful to presenting sponsor Jenkins Construction Company, sponsors AARP Rhode Island, Nina Bestoso, Ken & Tia Scuigulinsky and Webster Bank as well as co-sponsors Kiki Finn, KVH Industries, Salve Regina University, TJ Brown Landscape and Turner Scott, Esq. for supporting the arts and music scene in Newport and more specifically at Ballard Park.
